Brain Coronavirus Neurology

The coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic has had a significant impact on the field of neurology, as the virus can affect the brain and nervous system in a variety of ways.

One of the most common neurological symptoms of COVID-19 is loss of smell and taste, which can be an early sign of infection.

Other neurological symptoms may include headache, dizziness, and fatigue.

In more severe cases, COVID-19 can cause encephalitis, an inflammation of the brain, or acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (ADEM), a condition that damages the protective myelin layer around nerve fibers in the brain and spinal cord.

There have also been reports of COVID-19 causing stroke, either directly or through complications such as blood clots.
